History of the Queen's Park Public Speaking Club

The Queen's Park Public Speaking Club has a history which spans over 35 years. In the period over the three decades in which the club has existed, members have helped each other to develop their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.

The club started in 1972 as a public speaking self-training group for employees of the Ontario government. That club become organized as a Toastmasters Club in April of 1973 and has flourished since that time.

Today our club's membership has over 40 people who represent a wide variety of occupations, ages, and cultural backgrounds. While some of our members work for the Ontario government and crown organizations; our membership comprises a mixture of individuals from the private, public and academic sectors.
