| Communications May 7, 2008 Meeting Overview Thanks to all who joined us for our meeting, where everyone really showed their 'winning attitudes'! We had a surprise interviewer guest from CBC Radio asking us about the do's and don't of giving toasts. Hopefully Deborah's and Raimonds' interviews will make it to air and get our name out! As well, I gave a speech from the Humourously Speaking manual and was finally able to step away from the podium! Raimonds also won both the Spark Plug and Smiley Awards for taking on the General Evaluator role even though he is swamped in the middle of tax season at work. The theme for next week is "Planning Ahead". Looking forward to seeing you there! Stan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ April 30, 2008 Meeting Overview Thanks to everyone who attended our meeting on the theme of "Getting One's Way"! The reward for attending was that they heard Richard A.'s second speech from the CC manual entitled: "Laser Eye Surgery", an informative talk about the different types of this procedure. A special note goes out to Elizabeth C. who filled in at the last moment as our Table Topics Master, and in fact took on this role for the first time. Great work! Next week's meeting will be on "Winning Attitudes"! Stan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ April 23, 2008 Meeting Overview Thanks to everyone who made this week’s meeting a success even with the sound of the fire alarm testing! Our meeting theme was "Great Bosses" and we heard many different ideas on this theme from everyone, through the lively Table Topics session. Deborah A. gave an excellent presentation as the wrap-up to her year of work on her High Performance Leadership Project, an advanced Toastmasters project. Deborah spoke about her experience with the startup of a new Toastmasters club in the area, Brainwave Toastmasters. It was great to hear about how her Toastmasters leadership skills were put into action! The theme for our April 30th meeting is: "Getting One's Way", and we are looking forward to Richard A.'s second speech from the Competent Communicator manual! See you there! Stan
